Nancy "Ginger"'s Baptism!!!

So today, one of my roommates, Nancy (but we call her Ginger) was baptized!!! It was wonderful! She is one of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life. She is so kind hearted and sweet! She asked Lauren and I to speak, and believe it or not, neither of us got emotional! I was shocked. I also made the programs... which I must say looked amazing! Our dear friend Matt Noble performed the baptism, which he did in Spanish. That was very special. Especially to Ginger. Lauren, our friend
Ratimo, and I all pitched in and bought her her very own set of scriptures and a hymn book with her name
engraved in them! She cried when we gave them to her. It was so sweet! Andrew was able to make it... which was amazing! He drove all the way from Provo to be here. He is so sweet!!! Ginger has taught me a lot of wonderful things in the short time I have known her since coming to college. She is only 20 years old and already a senior in college! Can you believe it?! And she is a psychology major at that. We all went out to dinner to Chili's afterwards to celebrate. We told our waitress that it was Ginger's birthday... so she got a free dessert! It was such a wonderful day. I'm very grateful that I got paired with such good roommates. I know a lot of people here who got roommates that are complete turds.

Best Friends are Forever

Since Lauren did a tribute to me on her blog, I figured I'd better post one too. Lauren and I have been best friends for forever. I love her with all my heart! She has always been there for me through everything. When I need good, sensible advice, I always can turn to her. She is one of my roomies here at college, and we have been having so much fun together! I don't know what I would do without her. Even when we get on each other's nerves, which happens sometimes of course, we still remain as close as sisters. We couldn't be more different in some aspects of life. She keeps my head on straight. Our lives are changing more than ever now. We're in college now, before we know it we'll be getting married and having families of our own. CRAZY! We have always been attached at the hip, so it'll be interesting to see which direction life leads each of us.

College Life

So I started college almost 2 months ago... and I'm loving it! I love all of my classes, and all of my professors are so nice. I am rooming with my best friend, Lauren, and 2 other girls. We all get along great! Nancy is a spicy latina and we love her! Trice is a gangsta. We love her too! It's fun because we all have such different personalities and all come from different backrounds. It makes it interesting. I'm studying dental hygiene. I think it will be an excellent job when I have a family of my own. Our new ward here in Poky is awesome! Everyone is so nice and so willing to help! I love it.
Although I have been having a lot of fun, college is serious business. Study study study! Lauren's dad told us to remember 3 letters... G-P-A! Smart man. I haven't really gotten too homesick. But I think my mom misses me. Actually, I know she does. And my brother does... even if he won't admit it. College is an absolute blast though! Things in my life are changing! That's for sure!
